West Virginia moving company rules
West Virginia law exempts carriers that move household goods from the commercial motor carrier chapter that the Public Service Commission enforces. The Legislature passed that exemption specifically to remove household goods transportation from PSC jurisdiction, so movers working only within the state do not need a PSC certificate. Problems with a mover are handled as consumer matters.
