Vermont moving company rules

Vermont does not license or permit movers for moves within the state. The Vermont DMV's motor carrier guide says there are no requirements to operate for hire within Vermont beyond proper vehicle registration. Disputes with a mover go to the Attorney General's Consumer Assistance Program.

Moving into or out of Vermont? A move that crosses a state line follows federal rules instead. Check an interstate mover.
