Kansas moving company rules
The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) requires movers of household goods within Kansas to hold a certificate of convenience and necessity under K.S.A. 66-1,114. The KCC issues a certificate only to an applicant that is fit and able to serve and meets its safety rules and liability and cargo insurance requirements. The KCC publishes a list of household goods carriers with tariffs on file.

Insurance or bond
Before getting a certificate, a carrier must file liability insurance of at least $100,000 for injury or death of one person, $300,000 for two or more people, and $50,000 for property of others per accident. The insurer files the certificate (Form E) with the KCC. Cargo insurance is also required, but the amount was not confirmed.
