Indiana moving company rules
Carriers that move household goods for pay within Indiana must get a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from the Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR), Motor Carrier Services, under Indiana Code 8-2.1-22. The authority must be renewed every year, and a carrier must file proof of insurance and a tariff before operating. A carrier may not charge anything that is not in its filed tariff.
