Idaho moving company rules
No Idaho agency was found that licenses or registers movers for moves within the state. The Idaho Public Utilities Commission lists electric, gas, telecom, water, and rail and pipeline safety among its areas, not movers. The Idaho Transportation Department does require proof of insurance for vehicles registered for intrastate haul-for-hire work.

Insurance or bond
Vehicles registered as intrastate with a haul-for-hire operation type must have a Form E insurance certificate on file, and every vehicle on Idaho highways must be continuously insured or bonded. These are vehicle rules, not mover-specific consumer protections.
Where to complain
Other Idaho rules to know
- With no state mover license, check a mover's business registration with the Secretary of State and ask for proof of insurance.
- A mover's for-hire trucks registered for in-state work must have a Form E insurance filing with the Idaho Transportation Department.
- The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division enforces Idaho's Consumer Protection Act against unfair or deceptive practices.
Moving into or out of Idaho? A move that crosses a state line follows federal rules instead. Check an interstate mover.
