Alaska moving company rules
Alaska has no state license for movers that handle moves within the state. The Alaska Motor Freight Carrier Act, the state law that once regulated for-hire trucking, was repealed by voter initiative, and no other state agency was found that licenses intrastate household goods movers. For moves that start or end outside Alaska, the mover must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

- For a move to or from another state, check the mover in FMCSA's mover search, which lists interstate movers only.
Moving into or out of Alaska? A move that crosses a state line follows federal rules instead. Check an interstate mover.
